Our mission is to bring the world together in a ClimateShot

An agricultural innovation race to save our planet.

 

Without accelerating research and innovation in agriculture, we don’t stand a chance of winning this race. 

That’s why we’re creating a global alliance of organisations who support the Action Agenda for Innovation in Agriculture.

What does it mean to become an ally?

 

  • Becoming an ally to the #ClimateShot offers a unique opportunity to showcase your commitment to a climate-smart future in agriculture and food systems

  • Through this campaign, we showcase agricultural innovations to a global audience

  • Adding your company or organisation to our ‘Allies’

  • Working with the #ClimateShot team on a short statement of support that outlines why and how you support the #ClimateShot Action Agenda

  • Propose agricultural innovations that can be featured in ‘Innovation Stories’.

WHO ARE our allies?

 

To join our growing list of over 200 allies, we’re looking for allies who can deliver the #ClimateShot:

  • Governments that design policy and repurpose  subsidies in a way that catalyses research and innovation;

  • Funding organisations that can increase and reorient grants for research and innovation in agriculture, accelerating the development of sustainable technologies and practices;

  • Large businesses and SMEs that can deliver these technologies and practices on a massive scale;

  • Research organisations that drive solutions across agricultural sectors and food systems;

  • Impact investors who channel funds for scalable solutions;

  • Public and private sector project partners who commit to rapidly deploying innovations.

How DO we measure success?

 

The Global Action Agenda on Innovation in Agriculture was launched in full at the UN COP26 climate summit in Glasgow in November 2021.

It sets out in more granular detail how allies can help deliver on the ambitions of the #ClimateShot, including our collective impact in:

  • Reducing greenhouse gas emissions from agriculture;

  • Improving productivity and the incomes of those who work in agriculture;

  • Strengthening the resilience of farmers to climate change, especially women, youth and marginalised groups;

  • Increasing biodiversity, improving soil health and strengthening efforts in water conservation.
